We’re happy to answer! Check out our FAQ below or get in touch if you have any
additional questions that aren’t shown here.
Q: How long does an
average air conditioner last?
A: On average, you
can expect a ducted system to last 12 years and some will last up to 15 years.
The lifespan of your unit will depend on the brand you choose, as well as
making sure the capacity of your system matches your needs.
Q: What are the benefits
of a ductless air conditioning system?
A: There are many
benefits to having a split air conditioning system vs a ducted system. They
are usually much easier to install, and thereby, are often less expensive to
have installed. They’re highly versatile, in that they can go virtually
anywhere throughout your home, with no need to accommodate bulky ductwork.
Q: How do I know
how big of an air conditioning unit I need?
A: The size of your
unit will depend on the size of your home. Smaller rooms that are no more than
25 square metres need an air conditioner that is around 2.6KW. Larger rooms
that are 25-60 square metres will need more power, usually around 3.5KW to 5KW.
We will help you choose the right unit for your home to ensure you get the
correct option for your home.
Q: What are the
signs that my air conditioner needs servicing?
A: The most obvious
clue would be that it won’t produce cold air anymore. If the air itself is
still running, you should call for a service if you notice any weird noises,
such as grinding or squealing. You also might notice that it takes longer to
reach the appropriate temperature, or it runs continually without ever reaching
the temperature for which it is set.
